Survey in the Internet on PPMSI: Validity and Reliability

This morning I heard from TV3, if not mistaken was informed that 98% of respondents had agreed to continue PPMSI as one research done by someone who is not well-known in Malaysia 'yet'. What about opinion from the majority of the 'rakyats' who do not have access to the Internet, especially respondents age of 50 years and above, and who do not have much time to surf the Internet, so also the rakyats particularly living in the rural areas who are far away from various media sources? To an academic researcher, any research needs validity and reliability. But this research does not have the two important criterias?

To re-test the finding is very simple. As we know, on the 7th March 2009, about 100,000 people had demonstrated in KL for the government to dissolve PPMSI. Now, lets invite people to demonstrate on issue that PPMSI should be continued. I confidently predict, they will be less than 2,000 will . If unsure, lets go ahead and try!

For the Malays, where are your originality? The Japanese proud of their language and maintain their impactful traditional cultures. So also the French, the Russians and the Germans. These four races who uphold their mother tongue languages have become the world's class societies in technology and scientific advancement almost in every fields. Ironically, the United Kingdom which its mother tongue is and uses English still far behind to those counterparts!

The Indians majority in Malaysia who work as laborers, many of them can speak standard English. But what are their standards in the society? Are their standards of living higher than the other Malaysians? Nope.

PPMSI is an artificial that could not last longer. Again, "hilang bahasa hilanglah bangsa." We can see today many Malays, especially the higher educated and income levels' groups feel ashamed of being the Malays. In formal public speaking and informal gatherings they seldom speak Bahasa Melayu, they so proud of their English. We can recognize them when seeing them being screened on the TVs. Many corporate leaders including in the GLCs do not believe the Malay workers performance by assuming that all Malay employees are lazy, mentally slow and poor. But they forget when IQ was tested in choosing the Malaysian first astronauts, two Malays were top in the list. Syabas to the two doctors! That just one example of the other 1,001 examples.
