Second Story: On the Way Back from Kuantan to Kuala Lumpur

By: Cicit Hj Mohamad Perak

On June 10, 2011 we had reached the Toll Plaza Gombak. When reached Hulu Klang, we saw many policemen were standing beside the road. Traffic jammed! We wondered what had happened then. We moved sluggishly towards Ampang. Along the way then we saw many vehicles moving by carrying UMNO’s flags accompanied by the traffic policemen/police women. My wife murmured to herself, why these Umno’s men travelling along the road at that time which is always busy? Did they mindful?

We reached home at 6.45 pm at our house in Commerce Garden. At 8pm I saw Berita at TV3. No wonder, the road was very jammed, because that time the PM Najib just finished talk at Gombak with substantial promises to residents there. In my mind wondering, he said previously that the government has limited budget to fulfill such promises.

However, about RM2 million has been allocated/promised to repair and renovate the Gombak Mosque. Ironically, when to attract the election voters, the government got a lot of money to spend! Oops, the people’s money, including my own money that being paid to the government in the form of rigorous taxes, especially the income tax, and plus the money we have to spend on the rising costs standard of living due to uplifting/reducing the subsidies by the present government!
